Going on trips is such a wonderful time to experience new things and to create memories. Sometimes, though, if you're really busy on a vacation, it can be hard to fully remember and appreciate all the things you've done and tried. Today's craft is making a travel journal to use on your excursions and commemorate all of your exciting adventures!
Materials:- 2 pieces of thin cardboard large enough to be the front & back covers of your book
-Assortment of Paper (it can be anything from lined notebook paper to multi-colored scrapbooking paper to normal white computer paper!)
- Assortment of a couple Envelopes
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Hole Punch
- 3 loose binder rings (can snag at office depot)
*OR to make it easier, you can buy a pre-made journal, then decorate it however you want and paste envelopes in the front and back!
*Materials To Bring On Your Trip:
- Glue Stick- Scotch Tape
- Scissors
- Pens/Pencils/Markers
*Optional: A loose envelope to keep in your day bag to put mementos in throughout each day
How To Make It:
1. Cut the 2 pieces of cardboard down to the size you want for the covers
2. Cut down as many sheets of paper as you want to fit inside the journal. They can be different sizes as long as they line up ok for the holes
3. Line up Cardboard, Envelopes (space these as far apart as you want), and paper, and punch 3 Holes in them
4. Put Binder rings through holes to hold together
5. Decorate your covers!
Now for the really fun part - Take it on your trip with you! Collect things as you go, take a bunch of pictures, and make as much of your journal as you can! Fill it with anything and everything you want! Ticket Stubs, Photos, Drawings, Quotes, Musings, Funny Incidents, Maps, Luggage Tags, Room Keys, Post Cards, Stamps, Matchbook Covers, Napkins, anything!
In the end you will be so happy to have such a composite memory of your trip!
