What I Learned: From Digital Zumba

A couple of years ago I got really into Zumba. I looked forward to every Tuesday and Thursday night to get to the gym and get my intense Latin groove on. However, since that time (which was only a period of about 4 weeks...) I have severely slipped in my Zumbenthusiasm. The classes got too crowded, the gym seemed too far away (and too expensive), and my dreams of becoming a Zumba master began to drift away.
THEN I got a Wii. And Wii Zumba. It. Is. Awesome.
I can dance like a maniac with no self-consciousness, I can burn cagillions of calories from the comfort of my own home, and I can shout things at the instructor! Today as I was rocking out to Cumbia beats and shakin my hips like a washing machine, I started to think about all the things Wii Zumba has taught me.
I thought I'd share:

  • Exercising alone in your apartment is one of the funnest things you can do
  • Join the Party
  • Rock music digitally mixed with Latin beats is awesome
  • "Strive for progress, not perfection." ~ unknown
  • Dancing like a crazy person is really good for your body
  • Dancing like a crazy person is really good for your soul
  • "Clear your mind of can't" ~ Samuel Johnson
  • Exercise can be fun
  • Don't apologize for yourself
  • "The higher your energy level, the more efficient your body. The more efficient your body, the better you feel and the more you will use your talent to produce outstanding results" ~ Anthony Robbins
  • You're only one digital Zumba class away from a great mood
  • Accidental discoveries or ideas can lead to the best results
  • Rug Burn Blisters do exist and do hurt like a bitch
  • Let your freak flag fly

  1. Tarreyn - After doing Zumba in public only a few times and looking like a major fool, I may have to invest in a Wii and the game...you make it sound like a lot of fun....

    1. Thanks, I'm so glad you feel inspired! It's a lot of fun! I also really love the Wii for other things like watching Netflix (Which also includes some great workout videos and such)! It's a nice thing to have :)
