How To Ace Crock Pot Chili

I don't know about you guys, but I love the crock pot. Slow cookers are the best! Put somethin in in the morning, come back in the afternoon and walk into a delicious smelling house and immediate dinner! For today's how-to I have two awesome, easy, tasty chili recipes. With only 2-3 steps in each, they couldn't be more simple, and they're both pretty healthy too! Enjoy these no-stress no-mess, delicious recipes!
Chunky Chili
Ingredients:
~ 1 Pound 90% lean ground beef (I like to use Turkey)
~ 1 Medium onion, chopped
~ 2 Cans (14 1/2 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
~ 1 (15 oz) Can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
~ 1/2 Cup Prepared Salsa
~ 1 Tablespoon Chili Powder
~ 1 1/2 teaspoons Ground Cumin
~ Salt & Pepper To Taste

Optional Toppings:
- shredded cheese
- sour cream
- diced onions
- sliced black olives
(My honey's favorite thing to do is crumble potato chips over the top too - I gotta admit it's pretty delicious)

How To Make It:
1. Cook and stir beef/turkey and onion in large skillet at med-high heat until the meat is cooked and the onion tender. Drain and discard fat.
2. Place beef mixture, tomatoes with juice, beans, salsa, chili powder and cumin in slow cooker, and stir. Cover with lid.
3. Cook on LOW for 5-6 hours, until flavors are blended. Season with salt & pepper.
That's it! Garnish and top as you choose, but that's all you have to do!

Three-Bean Turkey Chili
Ingredients:
~ 1 Pound lean ground turkey (or beef if you like)
~ 1 Small Onion, chopped
~ 1 Can (28 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
~ 1 Can (15 oz) Chickpeas, rinsed and drained
~ 1 Can (15 oz) Kidney Beans, rinsed and drained
~ 1 Can (15 oz) Black Beans, rinsed and drained
~ 1 Can (8 oz) Tomato Sauce
~ 1 Can (4 oz) Diced Mild Green Chilies
~ 1 to 2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
* Same optional toppings as above recipe

How To Make It:
1. Cook and stir Turkey and Onion in medium non-stick skillet at med-high heat until the turkey is no longer pink. Drain and discard fat.
2. Pour Turkey mixture and Remaining Ingredients into Slow-Cooker and mix well. Cover with lid.
3. Cook on HIGH for 6 - 8 Hours. Garnish and Enjoy!
