Warby Parker Winter Collection!

Growing up, among the myriad of other issues of adolescence, I was always self conscious about wearing my glasses.
You'd think that by the early 2000's the four-eyed stigma would be gone, but with icons like Britney Spears and The Spice Girls barraging the media, I was still deep in loserville.
This was before Tina Fey, pre Jessica Day, before cool glasses were affordable or available to the masses in any interesting kind of frame or color. Even Sex and the City discussed the issue of women being less attractive in glasses.
My, how times have changed.
With new female role models as well as the explosion of the internet and boutique glasses companies, the world is our oyster - and we can finally see it.

Enter Warby Parker.
I discovered Warby Parker about a year ago when it was finally time for me to take the plunge and replace my high school (!!!) glasses. I settled on the Sinclair frames and could NOT be happier. After 15 years of wearing glasses, I finally feel confident and actually like wearing my glasses in public.

The fact that their name is derived from the journals of Jack Karouac tells you immediately that this is no ordinary eyewear brand.
Warby Parker is an incredible company who's vision is to create boutique quality eyewear at a "revolutionary price point." With a huge selection of super groovy frames, all amazingly priced starting at $95, it's a dream come true for foggy visioned & fashion hungry folks like myself.

Did I mention that they have an at-home try-on program??
This means they send you 5 trial pairs free of charge for 5 days so you can try your favorite frames at home to see which you like the best!
This way you're not taking a gamble by buying glasses online because you get to actually see them on your face!
Simply wear them around to see which you like the most, send them back (for free) and fill out your order!
Having done this myself, I can tell you first hand how easy and awesome it is.

They ALSO have beautiful sunwear collections in prescription and non-prescription

And if all of this isn't cool enough already, they have an absolutely incredible give-back program

For every pair of glasses sold, Warby Parker provides a pair for someone in need. (Think of TOMS for prescription glasses!)

Almost 1 Billion people worldwide lack the proper access to glasses, meaning that FIFTEEN PERCENT of the planet's population is struggling to succeed in their work and learning environments.

By partnering with a variety of non-profit groups, Warby Parker trains low-income entrepreneurs in developing companies to start their own glasses companies. The organization has already distributed over 500,000 pairs of glasses to people in need all over the globe!

Basically what I'm telling you is that in every facet this company is effing brilliant.

SO.
This all leads me to the really exciting part of this post:
I was no less than THRILLED when Warby Parker's online media manager recently contacted me about sharing with you their fabulous new Winter Line that launches TODAY!
Eeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Described as "Rustic Meets Modern," their new Winter Line has six new shapes in five new colors, including two custom two-toned acetates. This is in addition to some of their already existing dapper frames in new cold-weather hues.

We change our wardrobe for different seasons, why not our glasses too??

Here's what they have to say about their new line:

Winter's best diversion - doubling up on thermals, watching your breath steam up the window, scribbling through a Sunday crossword puzzle - deserve a proper pair of glasses to bring them into focus.
[These new frames] make good companions for rooting around a bookcase, dashing through the snow, getting up to indoor mischief. The possibilities stretch on as shorter days give way to longer nights.

If that doesn't make you want a new pair of glasses, what will?!

As of today, you can go to their website and check out the new line, but here's a sneak peek as to some of the rad new frames you can expect to find:
So fun, right??
Now all I want to do is curl up by a fire with a crossword and spiked cider.
My favorites are the 1940's inspired Edgeworth and the classic round Lyle frames. Now to decide which color! The two-toned Durand is a great one too!
Which ones do you guys like?

So be SURE to check out the new line and everything else at Warby Parker.
A company that truly sees things differently.
